That's My Captain

By Lady Susanna

A woman stops Bryn on the street in a marketplace of their current port stop. She asks Bryn who that handsome man is that she saw Bryn with. Bryn’s only response… "My Captain" and walks away. But sometime about the way the woman asked Bryn made her stop and watch Sinbad walking from merchant to merchant, casually checking out items for sale. A smile lights up Bryn’s face as she suddenly starts humming the words to a song she heard from somewhere but finds herself creating words to the song that would personalize it for Sinbad. The words go something like this:

(Sung to "That’s My Baby" by Lari White (country))

See that man walking down the street
Thinks he’s tough but he smiles so sweet,
Tight leather pants and a pirate’s stance,
Bet you’d like to meet a man like that…
He’s a little crazy
He’s a little wild
He loves to do what ain’t allowed
He might talk too slow
And fight too fast
But he’d do any little thing I ask

That’s my Captain,
That’s my Captain,
That’s our diamond in the rough
But I’ll make him shine when I profess my love
He’s a rebel, wild and free
Ain’t no one gonna say he’s not right for me
Dermott prays he’s just a phase I’m going through
But one of these days he’s gonna love me too

That’s my Captain,
That’s my Captain,
That’s our diamond in the rough
But I’ll make him shine when I profess my love
He’s an angel He’s a saint
And I don’t worry about what he ain't
Cause what he is something fine
And we let him know he’s ours all ours.
